Peterborough Recreation Winter Registration

The City of Peterborough Recreation Services and Parks Division is excited to announce that Winter program registration dates have been set.

Public registration begins on December 13 at 7 a.m., Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre members can register on December 12 at 7 a.m. for programs that occur at the Centre.

Our New Recreation and Parks Services Guide will be released in the coming days featuring information on the variety of programs offered by the Recreation and Parks Services Division. The Guides features programs that are available 12 months out of the year ranging from Swimming Lessons to Day Camp and everything in between! 

The fastest way to register is online. You can also register in person at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre reception desk, or over the phone by calling 705-742-0050.

Give the Gift of Health

This season purchase the “Gift of Health”, with a Wellness Centre gift card for your loved one. Peterborough Recreation is now offering gift cards in any denomination. These can be purchased in person at the Wellness Centre customer service desk. Gift cards can be used for memberships, programming, personal training sessions, and much more.

McDonnel Street Community Centre

The Recreation Services and Parks Division is thrilled to announce the opening of the McDonnel Street Community Centre, with a range of amenities, tailored to adult leisure. This space is focused on providing unique recreation and leisure experiences to older adults. We believe in the importance of fostering a fulfilling and enriching environment for our older adults, and this facility reflects our commitment to that vision. Join us in celebrating our open house on November 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come for the light refreshments, stay to socialize and enjoy the activities.

New Drop-In Schedule

With the current sport drop-in schedule concluding on December 8, make sure you check out our new live-scheduling feature for drop-in activities taking place over the month of December, and into early January. Gyms B & C will be closed due to maintenance, but Gym A will remain open featuring new activities such as Adaptive Sport drop-in, 3 vs 3 Basketball, and Family Gym drop-in.

Holiday Skates

Public skates are offered as part of Recreation and Parks Services Drop-in Programs. Programs include Shinny Hockey, Public Skates, Family Skates, PA Day Skates, Holiday Skates, and 50+ Skates. Join us over the holidays at Healthy Planet Arena.

Holiday Swimming

Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre Aquatics features a leisure pool that is 20 m in length with three lanes, a water slide, and a PoolPod accessible chair lift, the capacity for this pool is 175 persons. The therapy pool is a warm, shallow pool with a wheelchair ramp and a swirl pool with therapeutic jets and seating. This pool is used for gentle fitness classes, wellness swims, swimming lessons, fun swims, nursery swims, and rentals. The therapy pool temperature is 91 to 93 F, and the capacity for this pool is 48 persons. Take advantage of our Aquatics Centre features by joining an Aqua Fitness class or by enjoying one of our many swims with your family or friends that are open to the public.
