2022 Parade Theme: Back Together

Peterborough, ON – Peterborough Canada Day celebrations start at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 with pre-parade activities in Confederation Square Park, followed by the Canada Day Parade presented by Cogeco, which begins at 12 noon.

The pre-parade event will include:

  • activities for children in Confederation Square Park, including the popular bike decorating contest, Canada Day tattoos and flags.
  • the Electric City Swing band will perform starting around 10 a.m. at City Hall and will sing “O Canada” to kick off the parade procession.
  • a “Happy Birthday Canada” cake at City Hall, donated by Morello’s Independent Grocer to be shared with everyone in attendance.

“Join us for this family-friendly celebration of Canada’s birthday,” encouraged Kelly Elliott, co-chair of the Canada Day Parade Committee. “We’d love to see families lining the parade route along George Street from City Hall to Morrow Park to cheer on the parade floats themed Together Again.”

The parade will be broadcast live from City Hall by Cogeco YourTV.
