Peterborough Airport holding emergency exercise on September 19, 2023

Peterborough, ON – An emergency exercise will be held at the Peterborough Airport from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. During the exercise, the airport will be temporarily closed to all air traffic.

Emergency response vehicles and equipment will be active in the area around Peterborough Airport during the emergency exercise.

The City of Peterborough, Peterborough Fire Services, Peterborough Police Service, Peterborough County/City Paramedics, and the Peterborough Airport are among the organizations, agencies and services that will be participating in the exercise.

This exercise serves as a routine evaluation of the Airport Emergency Response Plan, which adheres to Canadian Aviation Regulations. The plan encompasses operational strategies, protocols, and directives that govern the coordination of responses from various airport agencies and services, that may assist in response to an emergency at Peterborough Airport.
