Our Watershed, Our Blueprint: Protecting and enhancing our water resources

Peterborough, ON – Protecting and enhancing our river, creeks and groundwater systems is the goal of the watershed planning study called Our Watershed, Our Blueprint with a project launch open house being held at the Peterborough Public Library from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
“Watersheds are essential parts of a vibrant and healthy environment and, by extension, community,” Mayor Diane Therrien said. “Protecting and enhancing our watershed and water resource system is a priority for the City.”
The watershed plan will help the City grow in a sustainable manner, influence infrastructure expansion and support the City’s efforts to adapt to climate change. It will be a resource for protecting, managing and enhancing the water resource system.
The community will be asked for ideas and feedback at each phase of the project to help shape the watershed plan.
