Notice of Study Commencement - Television Road Bridge Replacement

The City of Peterborough has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for the Television Road Bridge Replacement. This EA Study will examine roadway detour and alignment alternatives, structural alternatives and staging alternatives and recommend a preferred bridge replacement strategy to address the needs of the Study Area.

Map showing the study areaThe Television Road Bridge Municipal Class EA Study is being conducted as a Schedule C EA Study under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2007), as amended in 2015. The Study will complete Phases 1 to 4 of the Class EA Process by establishing the need and justification for the project, considering all reasonable alternatives with acceptable effects on the natural, social and cultural environments, provide a recommended plan, proactively involving the public and engaging with Indigenous Peoples communities.

Public consultation

A draft Study Design Report is available online. The draft Study Design Report describes the study approach, study process, alternatives under study, public consultation program and Indigenous Peoples consultation program.

There is an opportunity at any time during the EA process for interested persons to provide comments, ask questions or give ideas. All information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (2009). With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record. The draft Study Design, notices and updates will be posted online.
