Notice - Baseball diamonds temporarily closed due to wet conditions

All City baseball diamonds are now open.
Update Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m.
Following inspections on Thursday, July 11, 2024, baseball diamonds will remain closed until at least Friday, July 12 due to extremely wet conditions caused by yesterday's rainfall. Recreation and Parks Services crews are not able to complete infield maintenance until the fields have dried out. All sports and recreational users are asked to stay off diamonds until further notice.
The City of Peterborough apologizes for any inconvenience.
Natural and artificial turf fields are open, but users are advised that use during current wet conditions may result in damage that will require repairs.

Peterborough, ON – Due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, City of Peterborough baseball diamonds are extremely wet, with water pooling on infields. To avoid damage, all sports and recreational users are asked to stay off diamonds for the next 24 hours. Use of natural and artificial turf fields will be at the discretion of user groups.
Damaged fields and divots can create safety concerns for players. If repairs are required following the storm, reopening of diamonds or fields may be delayed, so please watch for further notice.
