Nominations open for 2019 Civic Awards

Nominations for the annual Civic Awards opened today. The awards celebrate the contributions of volunteers in arts and culture, athletics, community betterment, environmental stewardship and sustainability, accessibility and youth.

“The people of Peterborough make our City special through their dedication, generosity, talent and drive,” said Mayor Diane Therrien. “If you know someone who has made outstanding achievements as a volunteer in our community, please nominate them for a 2019 City of Peterborough Civic Award.”

This year the Civic Awards will include the Mayor’s Youth Award recognizing outstanding youth aged 10 to 21 and the Holnbeck Award recognizing the achievements of volunteers from the City and County of Peterborough who have enhanced the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Nominations will be open until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020. Nomination packages are available online at www.peterborough.ca/CivicAwards  and at City Hall, 500 George St. N. They can be submitted online or in person.

The awards ceremony will take place on June 9, 2020.
