Peterborough, ON – A new Centralized Registry and Waitlist for child care will allow families in the City and County of Peterborough to easily find quality child care and apply to multiple programs at one time. Parents will no longer need to call multiple providers and fill out multiple application forms.

The registry is available online at

Families who are currently on waitlists for spaces at licensed child care centres are required to use the new system to re-apply in order to maintain their original waitlist date. Those who are currently on waitlists and do not re-apply will be removed from the waitlist effective June 14, 2019. Child care agencies will notify families on their waitlists directly about the new registry.

Finding child care is a significant concern for families in Peterborough according to Sandra Robinson, Program Manager of Children’s Services, City of Peterborough.

“This is an exciting new registry for families in Peterborough as it will allow families to find and apply to multiple licensed child care agencies in one application,” she said. “It is part of our continued commitment to improve accessibility for all families using licensed child care in Peterborough."
