Memberships During COVID-19 Closure

Hello Members,  

We hope that during these ever-changing times that you are taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. We understand that many of you have questions and we hope this communication can help address some of those challenges. While the Centre is closed staff are continuing work on supporting our members and participants, including working on a process for memberships.  

Regarding your membership payments, we are committed to ensuring we do not add any additional hardship at this time and are actively working with each member to ensure this outcome, including placing memberships on hold, processing terminations and suspending payments for the duration of our closure.   

In order to process membership changes, we do require written requests to make an adjustment to your membership. Please email the Membership Services Coordinator at with your name, telephone number, and membership ID (found on your membership card or key tag)This process provides documentation for both our Members and the Centre as we navigate through the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting facility closure. All requests received for changes to your membership account will be processed as if they were received on March 14, 2020 to align with the closure. 

Monthly Installments  

If your membership is paid in monthly installments, please email as per above, to request that your membership be placed on hold. Payments that have been processed since the closure on March 14, 2020, will be credited to your account.  

Once the Centre re-opens your membership will be reactivated, and the credit on your account will be applied to your overall membership payment.  

One Year Memberships Paid in Full

If your membership has been paid in full, please email as per above, and your membership will be extended by the number of days the Centre is closed.

Received Requests

Thank you to those who have submitted hold requests at this time. We appreciate your patience as we work through these and will respond to each email upon completion of the membership adjustment.  

Any questions regarding membership, should be emailed to and we will respond to your questions in a timely manner. Please note that during this time, staff responses will continue but may be delayed.


The Sport & Wellness Centre’s social media accounts and website are being monitored regularly, however email communications are being prioritized at this time. Centre staff will continue to communicate with members and the community through email updates. If you would like to be added to our general email communication list, please email and we will add you to future communications. 

Opening Date

Regarding the re-opening of the Centre, the City of Peterborough will continue to work with public health officials for our planning of a return to operations.  When details regarding the re-opening of the facility become available, we will communicate these plans through email, online updates, public notices and social media platforms. 

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and Centre staff look forward to welcoming you and your family back to the facility.
