Intersection of Sherbrooke and Bethune streets to be closed January 18 to 28, 2022

This post was updated on Monday, January 24 to modify the extended road closure date to Friday, January 28, 2022. The closure was extended because of delays in construction due to weather conditions.

Peterborough, ON – The intersection of Sherbrooke and Bethune streets will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday, January 18 to at least Friday, January 28, 2022 while work is completed as part of the Central Area Flood Reduction Project. Sidewalks in the construction area will also be closed. The road closure may be extended depending on weather conditions.

Detour routes will be posted for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Two transit stops for Route 6 within the closure area will be out of service during the closure:

  • Northbound on Aylmer Street at Sherbrooke Street
  • Westbound on Sherbrooke Street at Aylmer Street.

Route 6 Sherbrooke will use Stewart Street and King Street between Aylmer Street and Sherbrooke Street while the closure is in place. For more information about this route, please contact Transit Customer Service at 705-745-0525.

Local access to Bethune Street and Sherbrooke Street within the road closure area will be available for people accessing their homes and businesses.
