Statement by Mayor Jeff Leal on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

“Today Peterborough proudly joins communities around the world in recognizing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This day is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions, resilience, and achievements of individuals with disabilities and to reaffirm our collective commitment to building an inclusive and accessible society.

"In Peterborough, we strive to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate fully in our community. From enhancing accessibility in public spaces to supporting inclusive services, we continue to work together to break down barriers. I encourage all residents to reflect on the ways we can support inclusion, advocate for accessibility, and create opportunities for individuals of all abilities to succeed.”
