Household Battery Collection November 3 to 6

full bike rack

Battery recycling bag

Peterborough, ON - A special curbside collection of used household batteries will take place during the first week of November.

Orange battery-recycling bags were distributed inside the October 22 edition of the Peterborough This Week newspaper. Households that didn’t receive a bag are asked to use a zip-lock bag.

Residents are asked to place their bag of batteries on top of the blue box used for paper during the week of November 3 to 6 only. Please ensure the top of the bag is securely closed so batteries don’t fall out.

This is a special, one-week collection. Please wait until the week of November 3 to 6 and do not put batteries into your blue box or garbage, at any other time.

If you miss this collection, or you live in an apartment, you may take used batteries to the City’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot on Pido Road, open Wednesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
