Fall outside view of the Wellness Centre

Dear Community Members, Students and Patrons,

We hope that you had a relaxing summer and are ready for September.

Over the last several months we have received feedback on ways to improve our overall communication to users of the Wellness Centre. This will be the first in what will now be a monthly communication to our users. Using email, the communication board, social media and our website, information will be provided to our users monthly.

If you would like to receive these monthly updates through email, please speak with a member of our customer service team to have your email address added to our member list.

Here are some updates for the month of September 2021.

Hours of Operation

The Sport and Wellness Centre will increase our hours of operation starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021:

  • Monday through Friday: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Centre will be closed on Labour Day (Monday, September 6) and Thanksgiving (Monday, October 11).

Aquatic Centre Operation

The pool will be open until end of day on Sunday, September 19, 2021. The pool will be closed due to the replacement of the Pool HVAC system and is expected to reopen in January 2022. The pool closure does mean that we will unfortunately not be offering fall swimming lessons. The fitness centre, gymnasiums and the remainder of building will be open during these renovations and land program and services will continue to be available.

Fall Programs

Registration for fall programs, including fitness, youth and sport programs will open for members at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 both online and over the phone. Our public registration will open the following day, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 7 a.m., both online and over the phone.

For a listing of our amazing fall programs visit our Programs and Registration page.

Memberships

Reminder that memberships were reactivated for all members automatically on July 26, 2021 when the province allowed for fitness centres to reopen. Monthly payments or credits on account made prior to the facility closing in April have now been applied.

Monthly Payment Installments will begin as follows:

  • Payments taken the 1st of each month: next scheduled for September 1
  • Payment taken the 15th of each month: next scheduled for September 15

Membership Holds

For members who have requested a hold to their membership we will automatically adjust the hold date and will not include months in which the Centre was provincially mandated to be closed, which include April, May, June, and July. These months are exempted from the hold request.

For example, if you requested a 3-month hold starting in March 2021, the three-month hold will include March, August and September, and the membership will reactivate in October.

If you have not requested a hold and wish to do so in 2021 please find the link below to our online hold form.
