The City of Peterborough will hold a Public Information Session about proposed changes to the City’s Development Charges Policy and By-laws on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 starting at 5:30 p.m. The information session will take place at City Hall, 500 George St. N., in the Sutherland Room.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to attend the session, which will include a presentation about the Draft City-wide Development Charges Policy and Background Study, as well as an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

The City’s current Development Charges By-laws (19-095 and 19-096, as amended by By-laws 22-061 and 22-062) will expire in December 2024. The City-wide Development Charges Background Study proposes updates that will ensure that the City’s development charges rates accurately reflect future servicing needs of new development, including emergency services, sewers, waste management, transit, recreation and parks, public works, long-term care and services related to highway.

Following the Public Information Session on September 18, a Statutory Public Meeting will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024.
