Peterborough, ON - Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2020, all meetings of Council will return to an in-person format taking place in Council Chambers of City Hall. General Committee will be the first meeting in the new format, beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8.

Safety measures are in place, including the installation of glass partitions for Council members and staff, physical distancing for attendees and increased sanitization.

To allow for physical distancing, there is very limited seating available for the public to attend. Residents who are interested in attending a meeting must contact the Clerk’s Office at 705-742-7777 ext. 1820 to inquire about reserving a seat. Only those with a  reserved seat will be admitted to City Hall.

When they arrive at City Hall, attendees will be asked COVID-19 screening questions.  Anyone who is experiencing symptoms or has been exposed to the virus is asked to stay home and contact a testing centre. While in City Hall, visitors are asked to wear a face covering and to use hand sanitizer.

General Committee, Finance Committee and Council meetings continue to be live streamed and can be viewed on the City’s website at peterborough.ca/WatchCouncil. This service allows the viewing of the live meetings on a variety of devices in the safety of your home. Recordings of Council meetings are uploaded to the City of Peterborough website within approximately one week of the meeting.

For more information, residents may contact the Clerk’s Office by phone 705-742-7777 ext. 1820 or by email clerks@peterborough.ca.
