Tender Contract Number: ITT-04-20 Pavement Preservation Road Resurfacing – Simcoe Street

The City has awarded the above noted project to Dufferin Construction Company. The Contractor is tentatively scheduled to mobilize to this location on August 4, 2020. The work is scheduled to be completed by late September 2020.

The scope of work includes the installation/adjustments of required frames, covers and grates, minor curb removal, curb re-installations, grinding of asphalt, application of emulsified asphalt tack coat, installation of hot mix asphalt and the application of
pavement markings on Simcoe Street between George Street North and Aylmer Street North. 

There are no scheduled road closures for the contract at this time but traffic will be controlled by using one of the following methods dependent on the operation taking place; lane shifts to accommodate one dedicated lane of traffic in each direction when
possible or by way of a complete lane closure creating a unidirectional scenario for the duration of the project works. Prior to a complete lane closure, advanced detour signage will be erected to inform the travelling Public. As a result, it is expected that local traffic may experience delays within the construction limits.
