Centennial Fountain to be Shut Down for Maintenance

The Centennial Fountain in Little Lake will be turned off for several days to allow for regular
preventative maintenance and repairs. Work is scheduled to begin on June 11, 2018.
Unfortunately, higher flows on the Otonabee River in early May created unsafe working conditions
that prohibited some preventative maintenance and repairs that would normally be done in
preparation of the operating season. All efforts are being made to return the fountain to normal
operations as soon as possible.
The maintenance and repairs will be completed using a diver, barge and crane.
The Centennial Fountain is prominent feature in the heart of the City of Peterborough. It is
scheduled to run from the middle of May to the middle of October annually.
