A new playground structure at the Cameron Street Tot Lot in the City’s south end will be
officially opened during a celebration starting at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018.
Cake and refreshments will be served at the community celebration for the neighbourhood.
The Cameron Street Tot Lot is on the south side of Cameron Street, west of Erskine Avenue.
“The community benefits tremendously when organizations like the groups that came together
to support this project partner with the City of Peterborough to encourage recreational
opportunities,” said Terri Lynn Johnston, recreationist with the City of Peterborough
Community Services Department. “The children of Cameron Street and the surrounding
neighbourhood will benefit for many years from this play structure project through creative play
and the development of gross motor and social skills.”
East Peterborough Lions Club, Grace United Church, Peterborough Housing, Mercedes-Benz
Peterborough, Kidz Karnival, Cameron Street Neighbourhood Association and the City of
Peterborough Arenas, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee contributed to the raising of
more than $14,000 and in-kind donations in support of the project. For more than 25 years,
Arenas, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee has supported partnerships to enhance the
quality of life in our community.
