Asset Management Plan consultation opens with a Levels of Service survey
Peterborough, ON - The City of Peterborough is inviting community feedback as it develops its 2025 Asset Management Plan.
The first stage of consultation will be an online survey. Anyone interested in providing feedback through the online survey is invited to sign up through the City’s community engagement hub, Connect Peterborough, at connectptbo.ca/2025amp from December 4 to December 11, 2024. A link to the survey will be sent directly to participants’ mobile devices when it is released on December 16 and will also be available on the project page from December 16 to December 30.
The Asset Management Plan supports and promotes evidence-based decision making and the development of strategies to maximize the life of assets like roads, sanitary sewer pipes, fleet vehicles, and arenas, while maintaining services and reducing risks. The consultation will support long-term planning and the City's Asset Management Plan and is not part of the City's 2025 budget process.
The 2025 Asset Management Plan will help the City establish a Level of Service target for services delivered. This will play a crucial role in determining resource requirements for infrastructure and by establishing clear expectations for what services the City will provide and help the City assess the resources needed to meet those expectations.
“We are inviting the community and businesses to provide their input so we can better understand what residents and businesses value and their satisfaction with current services delivered through asset management and capital planning. We want to hear from you, because your feedback is essential for the City to develop an Asset Management Plan that will support effective and efficient service delivery,” said Councillor Joy Lachica and Councillor Kevin Duguay, Co-Chairs of Infrastructure, Planning and Growth Management Portfolio in a joint statement.
“The Asset Management Plan will help us plan strategically for the future, allowing the City of Peterborough to identify the best places to invest limited dollars to provide the greatest benefit to residents, visitors, and businesses,” said Michael Papadacos, Director of Asset Management and Capital Planning.
Future engagement opportunities for the Asset Management Plan will include in-person Public Information Centres in 2025.
