Peterborough, ON – After a two-year hiatus, the Peterborough Canada Day Parade, presented by Cogeco, returns on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Local community groups and businesses are invited to participate in the parade, themed “Back Together,” by entering a float.

Parade entry forms are available online at peterborough.ca/CanadaDay, and paper copies are available at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre, at 775 Brealey Dr., and City Hall at 500 George St. N.

Entries will be accepted until Friday, June 10, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. The Canada Day Parade Committee welcomes float entries by both community groups and businesses. Commercial floats will be charged a fee of $125, with fees payable online. Each parade entry will require a representative to attend a Safety Orientation meeting on Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre.

The parade will begin at noon on Friday, July 1, departing from the intersection of George Street North and McDonnel Street, proceeding south down George Street to Morrow Park.

The parade committee is excited about the return of this community celebration and encourages everyone to wear red and white when they come out to celebrate Canada Day at the parade.
