Peterborough, ON – The 2018 Progress Report on housing and homelessness is now available. This annual report highlights progress made during the first half of the 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan.

“The 2018 report outlines accomplishments that helped meet the needs of people in the City and County of Peterborough,” says Housing Services Manager Rebecca Morgan Quin. “Continued collaboration between the City and community partners supports the housing and homelessness work in this community.”

Key highlights of the report include:

  • 240 low income households got a municipal rent supplement to help pay their rent; 112 of these households were in a 100% provincially-funded program that ended in 2018. They are now getting help under the municipally-funded Housing Choice Rent Supplement program.
  • Intensive Case Managers helped move 15 people from homelessness into secure housing in the last 2 months of 2018.
  • 37 people experiencing homelessness were supported by the Home for Good supportive housing program.
