• Pride Week is celebrated September 15 to 24. A flag raising event will be held at City Hall on September 15, and the annual parade will be on September 23. Visit Peterborough Pride’s website to get involved.
• International Week of Deaf People is September 18 to 25
• Gender Equality Week in Canada is September 24 to 30
• Franco-Ontarian Day is recognized on September 25
• September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, or Orange Shirt Day, honouring the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Hiawatha First Nation will host an Orange Shirt Day event in Confederation Square across from City Hall, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on September 30.
