Topics in training include leadership, team building, and child development. Placements will take place in either the Junior Summer Discovery camp (children ages 4 to 6), or the Summer Discovery camp (children ages 7 to 11).

 What to bring
All youth leaders should come to their training days and volunteer placements prepared with snacks, drinks, water bottle, a lunch, weather-appropriate clothing, and a good attitude. We promote a nut-free environment.
 Personal health form
Youth leaders will be required to complete and submit a Camper Health and Information Form. We keep this on file and you only need to complete it once a year. Be sure to submit your health form on or before the first training day.
 Health concerns
Please notify the Youth Leadership program supervisors about any health or behavioural concerns you may have regarding your child's participation in this program. The museum has a protocol for anaphylactic shock and a parental clearance form is required if your child has suffered a suspected concussion.
In the course of all program activities, we may take photos and audio and/or visual recordings. We reserve the right to use all photographs and videos of our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes.
