In the summer, Wednesdays are wild at the Peterborough Museum & Archives! New in 2020, our Wildcard Wednesday program has evolved into an immersive, enriched, museum-focused program for kids! Wildcard Wednesdays are no longer single-day camps. Instead, campers are committed to three consecutive Wednesdays of camps that will teach them what happens behind the scenes at the Museum when planning and creating an exhibition!
Wildcard Wednesday camps are for children ages 8 to 12.
If you are looking for camps for younger children, check out our Junior Summer Discovery camps for children ages 4 to 6.
Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22: Junior Curator Program Session #1 - course code: 14021 |
Immerse yourself in the skills and training of a Museum Curator. We’ll be handling artifacts, designing exhibits, and exploring the PMA’s own collection. If you've ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at a museum, this camp provides you with a hands-on opportunity to explore the thousands of items housed at the PMA, and to curate your own exhibit for the public to see! |
Wednesdays, August 5, 12, 19: Junior Curator Program Session #2 - course code: 14022 |
Please note that the Wildcard Wednesday Junior Curator Program #2 will be much of the same programming as in Session #1. See above for details. |

What to bring |
Please ensure your children come to camp prepared with snacks, drinks, water bottle, a lunch, and weather-appropriate clothing. We promote a nut-free environment. |
Personal health form |
Each child attending camp must complete and submit a personal health form. We keep this form on file and you only need to complete it once a year. Be sure to submit your health form on or before the first day of camp. |
Health concerns |
Please notify the instructor about any health or behavioural concerns you may have regarding your child's participation in Junior Summer Discovery. The museum has a protocol for anaphylactic shock and a parental clearance form is required if your child has suffered a suspected concussion. |
Photos |
In the course of all program activities, we may take photos and audio and/or visual recordings. We reserve the right to use all photographs and videos of our programs, participants, special events and facilities for promotional purposes. |
