Open 7 days a week!
The PMA is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and weekends and statutory holidays from 12 noon to 5 pm. Admission is by donation.
Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that the Peterborough Museum & Archives is located on the Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig territory and in the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations, which include: Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations.
The Peterborough Museum & Archives respectfully acknowledges that the Williams Treaties First Nations are the stewards and caretakers of these lands and waters in perpetuity, and that they continue to maintain this responsibility to ensure their health and integrity for generations to come.
PMA recognized with national award by the Canadian Museums Association
Outstanding Achievement in the Exhibition category for "To Honour and Respect: Gifts from the Michi Saagiig Women to the Prince of Wales, 1860."
The exhibition, To Honour and Respect was on display April to November 2023 at the Peterborough Museum & Archives.
The award was presented at the Canadian Museums Association Award Ceremony held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Featured Exhibition Chinese Languages in Canada will be on display from Saturday, June 22 to September 15, 2024. We invite you to visit this exhibit and find out more about the richness of the Languages.
Children's Fall Programs at the PMA Registration for fall programs including PA Day Camps and Kids Only-Discovery After Dark will open on Tuesday, August 27th at 9:30 am! Register online.
Summer Movie on the Hill Get ready for awesomeness! With rain forecasted for our original date, our 3rd Annual Movie on the Hill is now Friday, Sept. 13 with Kung Fu Panda 4 screening at 7:30 pm. See event for details.

An appointment, booked in advance, is required to access the Archives. Our Archivist is happy to assist you with your research requests in our Archives reading room.
