Heritage Hunt - August 1 - September 16th, 2023

The Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (PACAC) launches an  annual Heritage Hunt contest inviting residents to test their knowledge of Peterborough’s architectural heritage for the chance to win great local prizes.

The contest involves identifying architectural details on buildings in a defined area of the city. All details are visible from the sidewalk and both sides of the street are in play.  This year's Hunt will focus on active transportation routes, stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

The Heritage Hunt can be completed in two ways:

  • A fillable, mobile-friendly form, including a map of the Heritage Hunt area where all of the architectural details can be found, which will be available on the City’s website starting August 1, 2023.
  • Booklets will be available for pick-up at City Hall, 500 George St. N. between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting August 1, 2023.

Doors Open Peterborough

Funded by the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (PACAC), Peterborough’s event is part of Doors Open Ontario in partnership with the Ontario Heritage Trust, and is a great opportunity for community engagement and education about our built and cultural heritage.

Doors Open Peterborough 2023 will be held in person on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
