Application

Completing the special event application is the first step to hosting your event in Peterborough. Be sure to complete the application a minimum of 90 days prior to your event.

If your event requires a road closure, please review the road closure guide and application.

Venues

We have a variety of different venues for your event including:

Funding

Your event may be eligible for full or partial funding. A detailed budget that outlines all anticipated revenues and expenditures and your charitable registration number must be included in your special event application.

We also have community grants that fund local not-for-profit groups and registered charities.

Insurance

Insurance is mandatory for all special events. You will need to provide proof of insurance, or your event cannot take place.

Insurance provides coverage for event organizers and volunteers for third party liability claims resulting from an injury to a third party and / or damage to their property. The City of Peterborough does not provide personal property and / or injury coverage.

The amount of insurance is either $2 million or $5 million depending on the risks associated with the event.

  • Accessible parking spaces
  • Public transportation
  • Paths of travel
