Job Details
Under the direction of the Fitness and Sport Coordinator, Skate Instructors will be responsible for teaching group ice skating classes from basic to advanced skills to participants ranging in age from 2 years old to adult with most of the participants working on basic skating skills. Locations include the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre, Kinsmen, Healthy Planet, Memorial Centre Arena and/or Miskin Law Community Complex.
Qualifications
Skate Instructors must be able to stand/ skate for extended periods of time in a cold environment and will be required to provide their own skates and CSA approved helmet. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Experience with figure skating, hockey, recreational skating lessons, or ringette considered an asset.
Successful candidates will also be required to provide a current criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check, as a condition of employment offer. The check will be completed at the candidates own expense. Additional uniform components will be provided to successful candidates. This position will work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
