Job Details
The Recreation Attendant – Parks & Marina will assist in a variety of operational and maintenance duties across both parks and marina facilities. In the parks, responsibilities include grass cutting, trimming, turf management for athletic fields, general park maintenance, waste removal, event support, and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of park grounds and facilities. In the marina, the role involves assisting customers with dock reservations, providing information on community amenities and activities, and maintaining the marina’s facilities. Duties include spraying and clearing docks, garbage collection, grounds upkeep, cleaning washrooms, pumping fuel, providing pump-out services, and performing general maintenance tasks to maintain the marina's cleanliness and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals with a minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalent, along with at least 2 years of job-related experience. Candidates must hold a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and be able to provide a clear driver’s abstract and a satisfactory current Police Criminal Record Check. First Aid/CPR certification, WHMIS 2015, Health and Safety, or Standard First Aid/CPR/AED would be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will possess well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellent customer service. Experience in a municipal marina or public setting, as well as familiarity with cash handling, would be considered an asset. Applicants must also be physically capable of performing the demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, standing, and sitting.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
