Job Details
The Public Works Labourers will assist in a variety of assignments such as: traffic control, sidewalk construction, asphalt repair, road/boulevard repair, grass cutting, weeding and horticultural duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Completion of an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent).
- Licenses:
- Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a valid City Driving Permit.
- Clear driver’s abstract required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of related work procedures in specified areas.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Health & Safety Training:
- Training and experience in Traffic Control Book 7, WHMIS, and Health and Safety practices are considered assets.
- Standard First Aid/CPR/AED certification is an asset.
- Police Check: Satisfactory and current Police Criminal Record Check from a Canadian Police Information Centre required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
