Positions

Applicants are required to confirm that they are currently enrolled in a Post Secondary education program and returning to full time studies in Fall 2025; Able and available to work 8-hour shifts, including work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime (where required) from May 1 to Labour Day; Possess a valid “G” license in good standing and reliable vehicle to travel to various sites within the City.
IT Student (Applications) – File #25-T-33
The IT Student (Applications) will support the Business Systems Analysts, the IT team and application users, including: provide IT support and assistance with application setup, configuration, and problem resolution; collaborate with internal staff and external suppliers & vendors to monitor the performance of information technology resources; make recommendations to maximize efficiency and performance, and identify opportunities to automate existing processes; and maintain detailed project, configuration, and user documentation.
- Candidates must be enrolled in Post Secondary education program in Information Technology, or other related discipline.
- Requires demonstrated knowledge / interest in the area of end-user software solutions. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of requirements analysis, computer programming, application configuration, databases, and/or experience with Microsoft SharePoint, PowerAutomate, PowerBI/SSRS and PowerApps, PowerShell scripting systems.
IT Student (Service Desk) – File #25-T-34
The IT Student (Service Desk) will provide general support and administration to the Service team pertaining to: desktop hardware and software resources (stand alone and networked), including installation, configuration, security and optimizations of computer operating software, business applications, MS Office, software, network drivers, etc, for network connectivity, and maintain detailed records. The role will support problem resolution of computer hardware, software and network connectivity problems by responding to client calls, making preliminary assessments of the problems and taking corrective action. The role is expected to participate in special assignments or projects pertaining to client/desktop hardware or software.
- Candidates must be enrolled in Post Secondary education program in Computer Engineering Technician or Technologist, or other related discipline.
- Requires demonstrated skills and experience with problem diagnosis, repair and upgrading of computer hardware at the component level and installation, configuration and optimization of desktop software in a Windows environment.

Must be self-motivated, and possess effective customer service and communication skills. Demonstrated excellent safety record and attitude.

Salary
Starting wage: $17.20 - $17.55* per hour (wage under review)
