Peterborough Environmental and Climate Action Expo
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural PtboEnviroX
The City of Peterborough celebrated the work the municipality and community partners are doing toward environmental and climate action at the first Environmental and Climate Action Expo (EnviroX) on September 23, 2022. EnviroX was an opportunity for residents to learn about initiatives and projects that are achieving greenhouse gas emission reductions and greater environmental sustainability since the declaration of the Climate Change Emergency in 2019. Under the Climate Emergency Declaration, the City committed to protecting the community, its economy, and ecosystems from the damaging impacts of climate change.
Peterborough's first official bird (the Great Blue Heron) was announced at EnviroX, in partnership with Bird Friendly Peterborough.

This event will help showcase the work of the City and also provide inspiration and reenergize us to keep up this most important work,” said Councillor Kemi Akapo, who is co-chairing the event with Councillor Zippel.
