The Miskin Law Community Complex, located at 271 Lansdowne St. W., is officially open.

The new community complex includes a the Canadian Hockey Enterprises ice pad and the Russelle Toyota ice pad, a Peterborough Public Library branch, an indoor walking track, multi-purpose space, and leasable office space.

Construction on the $68.5-million facility began in December 2022.

News and updates

The Peterborough Public Library branch at Miskin Law Community Complex will open in February 2025.

The contractor is working with the City of Peterborough to ensure the quality of the finished facility meets expectations for exceptional user experiences at Miskin Law Community Complex.

Facility design elements

The design of the Miskin Law Community Complex includes the following program elements:

  • The Russelle Toyota ice pad and the Canadian Hockey Enterprises ice pad with 500 seats on each
  • An elevated walking/running track
  • 12 team change rooms and 3 official rooms
  • A team training area
  • Office / Administration / Customer Service space for City staff
  • Office leased space
  • A concession area
  • Two multipurpose rooms
  • Public washrooms, elevator and storage
  • Landscaping and parking
  • Library branch space (added to the program in January 2022)

A planned future Phase 2 of the complex development Phase 2 of the Miskin Law Community Complex will include a competitive 25-metre, 8 lane pool, warm up therapy pool and change rooms.

Project background

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Miskin Law Community Complex (formerly referred to as “Arena and Aquatics Complex”) was held on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Community participation has been incorporated throughout the development of this project since 2013 and helping to shape the design and building amenities via community forums, user group workshops and surveys.
