Job Details

The Facility Operator is responsible for the day to day operation of the Peterborough Sport & Wellness (PSWC) in the capacity of legislative requirements for cleaning and maintaining the exterior grounds, gyms, fitness & aquatic centre, maintaining water quality and chemical balancing, facility and fitness equipment repairs.  The Facility Operator shall respond to all Health & Safety issues pertaining to the facility and adhere to all Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) requirements for the Water slide and follow all standards according to Ontario Pool Regulation 565.

Qualifications

Requires an individual who has: Grade 12 education or equivalent; Certified Pool Operator (CPO), along with 1-year cleaning and building maintenance experience in a Recreation Facility. The following certifications and experiences are considered an asset; Ontario Health and Safety Act (OH&S ACT) Certification, training in working at heights, safe ladder use, elevated platform, fall protection, lock-out/tag-out, riding lawn mower, respirator, WHMIS and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.  Must have excellent working knowledge of facility and pool maintenance equipment and procedures. Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.  Must be knowledgeable in the safe operation of power tools.  Requires access to reliable transportation for picking up of supplies. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. 

Shift Details:

Shift C – consists of working thirty-six (36) hours per week, Friday through Sunday, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hourly rate of $29.55.

Shift D – consists of working forty (40) hours per week, Thursday through Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. with an hourly rate of $25.86.
