Job Details

Reporting to the Public Services Supervisor, Customer Service Specialists are responsible for front line customer service including circulation services, information and reader’s advisory services.


Requires an individual who has a two-year Library Technician degree, or equivalent library experience. An individual who can contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service, with a broad range of computer experience including data entry, front end use of software running on Linux and Windows platforms, Microsoft Office use, and general contemporary technology troubleshooting. AODA training, the ability to work effectively with the public and with people of all ages, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, ability to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and accuracy and an ability to perform a variety of tasks with minimal supervision, usually gained from 9-12 months of on the job experience.  Knowledge of Library ILS (Workflows) is an asset. Ability to read and understand operating and procedure manuals and the ability to write operating instructions and procedure manuals.

This position works a variety of different shifts including every other Saturday and a minimum of 15 Sundays per year.
