Job Details:

Assigned to the Arena Division and directly responsible to an Arena Foreman, the Arena Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Arena Division facilities including Urban Park. This position will be required to carry out indoor & outdoor facility maintenance such as; cleaning, sweeping, mopping, painting, snow removal and grass cutting. This position also provides customer service to facility users and the public by handling general inquiries and assisting with set ups and facility rentals. This position will also oversee and provide direction to part time labour staff. The Arena Operator will also be required and responsible to monitor and record refrigeration equipment readings in accordance with legislative requirements, as well as operate an ice resurfacer, and ice edger. 


Requires a Grade 12 education or equivalent and successful completion of an ORFA certified Basic Arena Refrigeration (BAR) (or equivalent course) in addition to knowledge of proper safe work procedures including familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The selected applicant will require basic computer skills including email and Microsoft office applications. Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.  Must be knowledgeable in the safe operation of power tools.  Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification would be considered an asset.  Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in a recreational facility and have training courses related to ice making and maintenance.

This position will involve shift work (days, evenings, nights, weekends).  The location of the positions will be assigned by the employer based on operational needs.

Hourly Rate: $25.14
