Notice of Public Open House: Strategic Downtown Parking Management Study

Location: Peterborough Lions Community Centre, 347 Burnham Street

Map image of the City of Peterborough downtown coreThe City of Peterborough is updating its Downtown Parking Management Study prepared in 2007. The objective of this update is to develop a new five to ten year parking management plan that addresses the Downtown core’s new parking needs.

This update has assessed existing and future parking demand to ensure adequate long-term supply is provided, while:

  • promoting alternative modes of transportation;
  • introducing new state-of-the-art parking technologies; and
  • evaluating the financial feasibility of various parking supply types.  

As shown on the map, the study area is bound by McDonnel Street to the north, Park Street to the west, Rink Street to the south, and the Otonabee River to the east.

An informal public open house is being held to present the study’s preliminary findings and to obtain public and stakeholder feedback. The provided feedback will be used to finalize the study conclusions and recommendations. Members of the public, business owners, and other interested stakeholders are invited to attend and discuss the study’s findings at the following time and location:
