Northcrest Ward Community Barbecue

Event date: Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Location: Queen Elizabeth Public School, 830 Barnardo Avenue

Northcrest Ward Councillors Dave Haacke and Andrew Beamer invite Northcrest Ward residents to join them for a community barbecue and conversations on topics such as the Official Plan update, the 2018 City Budget and capital projects, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 at Queen Elizabeth Public School, 830 Barnardo Ave.

Councillor Beamer and Councillor Haacke have previously held Town Hall-style meetings to engage with residents on various subjects including parking in neighbourhoods, sport facility development, parks, and recreation services. With the start of summer approaching, the Councillors are holding a more informal style of gathering – a community barbecue – to connect with residents on municipal issues. City Chief Administrative Officer Allan Seabrooke and other City staff will be at the barbecue to help answer questions from residents.

“Enjoy a meal with your fellow residents and families in the north end, engage in conversations about issues affecting your neighbourhood, or share ideas for our community,” Councillor Beamer said, encouraging residents to attend.

“We want to hear from residents – whether it’s at a formal Council meeting, at an official Town Hall-type session, through an email, by phone, or at a community barbecue such as this event. It’s important that we offer a range of ways for residents to interact with us as their elected representatives on Council,” Councillor Haacke said.
