Peterborough City County Health Unit |
Description: |
Many injuries, by older adults age 65 and over, can be predicted and prevented. Falls are the leading cause of injury, responsible for deaths and are a main reason for admission to a nursing home. Injuries for seniors can mean the difference between dependency requiring institutional care and good health with independent living in the community. The Peterborough County-City Health Unit urges older adults and their caregivers to be safety conscious. The PCCHU has an Older Adult link on their website with information for seniors. |
