Homelessness Services

Important Notice:

As of December 21, 2016 the Brock Mission Men's Emergency Shelter program temporarily relocated to 120 Murray Street (educational wing of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church) to allow for construction of their new building. Men needing emergency shelter should go to the new location at St. Paul's. Entrance is located off of Murray Street. 

Facing Homelessness?

Social Services works with many community partners to provide emergency shelters, outreach and support programs, and with the community partners has created initiatives for homelessness prevention.

HCRT - Homelessness Co
ordinated Response Team 
Front-line staff, bi-weekly case conferences for homelessness response coordination 

Staff Outreach 
Social Services Case Manager outreach to the emergency shelters, drop-in centre, warming room and YWCA Crossroads

One Roof Community Centre
Day time drop-in for low income residents for social inclusion, programs and meals.

Homelessness Prevention Initiatives 

Housing Stability Fund 

Limited amount of funding to assist Ontario Works, ODSP and low-income households with costs of obtaining and retaining housing. 

HPS - Homelessness Partnering Strategy
HPS is part of HCRT and provides street & shelter outreach, and housing retention  

Housing First Program
An initiative to house the most vulnerable people in the community first, and ensuring multiple supports are in place to retain housing.

Housing Stability Fund
