Father with DaughterThe Community Development Program (CDP) focuses on improving access and awareness of local agencies and services to residents in the City and County of Peterborough.

Current Activities

County Drop-in Centres

County residents are able to access our drop-in centres located in Buckhorn, Apsley, Havelock and Norwood to receive help or community service referrals. To find out more click here.

Municipality of Trent Lakes Projects

We work with the Trent Lakes Community Committee on projects that improve awareness and access to social and economic services.  Examples of projects include:

  • Meet Your Needs Days are events where residents have access to free clothing and household items.
  • Career and Information Fairs are held in March each year to link employers with local job seekers and for agencies to provide information about their services.

Age-friendly Peterborough

The Age-friendly Peterborough Advisory Committee (AFPAC) was formed in June 2017.  It replaced the Peterborough Council on Aging, which replaced the Peterborough Seniors Planning Table that formed in 2008.  The goal of AFPAC is to advance the priorities of our aging population by implementing the Age-friendly Peterborough Community Action Plan.

Food Security

The CDP is a member of the Peterborough Community Food Network with the aim of improving food security for residents in the City and County of Peterborough.
