Facility Porter - Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre

We are currently accepting applications until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, for the part-time position of Facility Porter with the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre.

The Facility Porter is responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep for the City of Peterborough’s community recreational facility.  Includes and not limited to dusting, sweeping,  mopping floors, showers, walls and ceilings, lockers, counters, washbasins, toilets, saunas, railings,  windows and mirrors. The position will include training and mentoring facility cleaners to ensure standards are met.

We require an individual with a minimum of six months cleaning experience in addition to experience training others.  The ideal candidate will have good time management skills and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.  Candidates must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position, which could include but are not limited to pushing, kneeling, stretching and lifting up to a maximum of 25 lbs.  The successful candidate will be required to provide a current police check as a conditional of hire.

This part time 24 hours per week position requires the candidate to have the flexibility to work a variety of different shifts including hours when the facility is open, after hours (after 11:00 p.m.) and weekends, based on facility usage schedules.
