Beavermead Camping Rules
Welcome to Beavermead Family Campground
The City of Peterborough welcomes you to Beavermead Family Campground. We hope your stay with us is an enjoyable one. In order to make your visit a success, the Campground has instituted rules and regulations that respects property and campers. PLEASE READ and FOLLOW the campground's rules. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask Campground Staff. Your cooperation is appreciated and we thank you for staying with us.

REGISTRATION / VISITORS
1. All campers and visitors must stop at the Office and check in before entering the campground unless otherwise directed at the Office.
2. To be considered a seasonal camper, the seasonal fee must be paid in full. No persons shall be permitted to use the campsite until this fee has been paid in full and the required seasonal contract has been signed.
3. No seasonal camping permit is assignable or transferable to any other person by the originating seasonal camper listed in the item one above.
4. No campsite may be occupied prior to May. All camping permits expire on Tuesday following Thanksgiving Weekend. Campsites are to be vacated on this date. There is no winter storage available for trailers.
5. Any person(s) involved in a physically or verbally abusive altercation will be evicted immediately. The police will be notified and a report filed. The Park Supervisor's decision is final in these matters.
6. All applicable vehicles in the campground must display their parking permit in their vehicle.
7. Check in time is 2:00PM & Check out time is 11AM on the day of departure. You must vacate your campsite by that time.
VEHICLES
8. A maximum of one vehicle is permitted per site at any time. Additional vehicles must park in the parking lot. No parking is permitted on the roadways at any time. Park at your own site. Visitors are to park in the parking lot. No visitors are permitted to enter the park after 11pm. Visitors shall leave the campground at 11:30PM
9. The rules of the roads also apply in the park for vehicles and bicycles. No biking after dark. Only licensed drivers are permitted to operate a motorized vehicle. Drive slowly and carefully on all park roads. Max speed is 10km/h in the park.
CAMPFIRES
10. To control the transfer of Ash Bores and Asian Longhorn Beetles, no firewood may be brought onto the premises. No wood, of any kind, can be taken from any bush or from trees on Beavermead Family Campground property. Firewood is available for purchase in the office.
11. No fires shall be of such size as to constitute a danger to the public. Do not burn garbage, plastics or other toxic materials.
12. Campfires shall:
a) be under supervision of a person at least 18 years of age.
b) be maintained in a safe and orderly manner where only firewood and reasonable starting materials shall be used.
c) be completely extinguished after use
d) be prohibited if the fire is considered a hazard in the opinion of the Park Supervisor.
REFUSE / GARBAGE / RECYCLING
13. All recreational vehicles connected to a water supply must abide by Ministry of Environment regulations.
14. Any trailer not having a gray water holding tank is required to purchase and connect a portable commercial tank.
15. Absolutely no dumping of sewage or gray water on grounds. The designated dumping station must be used.
16. No dumping of any liquids in the washroom buildings. A dump station is provided for your convenience. All gray water and sewage must be properly disposed of at the dumping station and may not be discharged anywhere else in the Campground Area.
17. Garbage must be bagged and deposited in the bins provided. The bins provided are for campground garbage only. Do not bring your garbage from home. Large household items are not to be brought into the campground nor are they to be left at the garbage bins.
18. Please use the recycling boxes provided and sort your recycling accordingly.
PETS
19. No more than one pet per campsite unless approved by the Park Supervisor.
20. All pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding two meters in length at all times.
21. Absolutely no pets are allowed in the washrooms, on the beach including the beach area water, and sand at the playground areas.
22. No pet shall be left unattended or allowed to disturb other patrons. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet and you are required to carry a bag to clean up after your pet at all times as per City of Peterborough By-Law # 192.6.1
23. A child who cannot control or clean up after the pet should not be walking the pet alone.
24. Pets must have proof of annual inoculations.
25. Only usual domestic pets (cats, dogs, caged birds) may be kept on the campsite. No pet shall be allowed on the site if that pet is considered a potential danger to any member of the public. If a problem is not rectified, the pet will be banned from the park. The decision and opinion of the Park Supervisor is final.
SITES / TRAILERS / TENTS
26. Campsite inspections are conducted daily.
27. All sites must be kept neat, orderly and clutter free. Only outdoor furnishings are permitted.
28. No freezers, refrigerators or any other appliance except a propane or charcoal fueled barbecue shall be used or stored outside of a trailer unit.
29. Campsites are per family. Meaning, 2 adults and their dependant children. Any additional person(s) will be an additional charge.
30. A limit of two tents and one recreational vehicle are permitted per campsite.
31. One picnic table is provided per campsite. Tables are not to be moved from one site to another.
WATER SYSTEM
32. The park water system is limited. Please conserve water. The water is received from the Peterborough Utility Services Inc. The provider to the City of Peterborough.
GENERAL
33. Removal or damage to any tree, shrub, fence, equipment, park material or items within Beavermead Family Campground is not permitted and the camper will pay damages.
34. Quiet time is between 12:00am and 8:00am. No excessive noise at any time, or engaging in activities that disturb other campers and park neighbours. Amplified speakers are prohibited.
35. All children and teenagers must return to their sites at 12:00am. It is the responsibility of the parents to enforce this, not park staff.
36. The registered camper is responsible for their children, friends and/or relatives visiting their campsite and anywhere within the park property; the actions or violations by these people are the responsibility of the registered camper and may lead to the cancellation of your camping privileges.
37. No child under the age of 18 is permitted to stay overnight unaccompanied by an adult. Use of parents’ seasonal campsite by young adults is not permitted without the Park Supervisor’s prior approval. No group parties are permitted.
38. The City of Peterborough, Campground Operators and staff assume no liability whatsoever for trailers or their contents while situated at Beavermead Family Campground. The owner of the trailer and/or permit holder will be solely responsible for any type of damage whatsoever while at Beavermead Family Campground (i.e. wind, rain, snow & malicious damages, etc.).
