Peterborough Airport Online Survey on Commuter Service

The Peterborough Airport is pleased to announce a public consultation exercise to determine public support for commuter air service between Peterborough Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

According to Trent Gervais, General Manager, Peterborough Airport, the first step in attracting a commuter airline to Peterborough is to understand market demand.

“We are often asked why Peterborough Airport doesn’t have flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport. Pearson Airport is rapidly approaching its capacity to serve its existing airlines. Passenger congestion at Pearson Airport continues to grow as well as longer security lineups. We believe commuter air service between Peterborough Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is a viable alternative to Pearson. Scheduled flights to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport would cater to travellers going to downtown Toronto as well as connecting to the Porter Airlines network including destinations such as New York, Boston, Halifax, Chicago and many more,” remarked Gervais.

The online survey will help Peterborough Airport executives determine if Peterborough is ready to support commuter airline service to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The survey consists of nine questions including a comments section. The survey is open until October 25, 2017 at 4:30p.m.

Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall, 500 George Street North and the Peterborough Airport Main Terminal.
