Rotary Outdoor Gym Canada 150 Project Update

In June of 2017, the City of Peterborough announced the generous support of the Rotary Club of Peterborough-Kawartha and the Rotary Club of Peterborough to bring the first Adult Outdoor Gym to Peterborough. Located in Beavermead Park adjacent to the volleyball courts and near the children’s playground, it will consist of a variety of exercise machines, including some that are accessible for persons with disabilities. The project will be funded thanks to contributions of $25,000 from each of the two Rotary Clubs, and $40,000 committed by the City of Peterborough.

The City issued Request for Proposal (RFP) P-08-18 on January 22, 2018 for the Layout Design, Supply and Installation of Outdoor Exercise Equipment at Beavermead Park. The RFP was awarded to New World Park Solutions Inc. on March 21, 2018. The vendor will begin the project in May 2018. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will be arranged upon completion of the project.
