The City of Peterborough, in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained D.M. Wills Associates Limited to undertake a Detail Design Study for interchange upgrades to The Parkway / Highway 7 / 115 / Sir Sandford Fleming Drive (Job No OT-07-030). The project lies within the City of Peterborough. The recommended design includes the following:
- A channelized ramp including 75 metres of a parallel lane at the northeast quadrant of Sir Sandford Fleming Drive/The Parkway (for Highway 7/115 westbound off ramp to The Parkway north movements) continuing northerly to a merge lane/right turn lane at Crawford Drive;
- Double left turn lanes, two through lanes and a dedicated right turn lane at the north leg of The Parkway/Sir Sandford Fleming Drive;
- Widening of the S-N/W off-ramp to provide an additional through/right turn lane;
- Double left turn lanes for the eastbound left turn onto the Parkway; and
- Other improvements as deemed necessary or feasible during detail design.
THE PROCESS
This project has been classified as a Group ‘C’ undertaking under the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, Schedule A with the opportunity for public input throughout. The study will include an assessment of potential impacts of interchange improvements on the study area environment. The City of Peterborough and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) invites you to a Public Involvement Centre (PIC) for The Parkway / Highway 7 / 115 / Sir Sandford Fleming Drive Design Study.

COMMENTS
You are encouraged to provide your input. All comments received will be considered in the study. Comments and information regarding this project are being collected to assist the Project Team in meeting the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the Public Record and may be used in the Environmental Study Report.
