Notice of Commencement & Public Information Centre: North End Trent University Area Transportation & Wastewater Management Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

 The City of Peterborough (City) and its consultant (AECOM), have initiated a comprehensive Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study within the north end of the City to:

  • Explore options to realign Armour Road, north of Cunningham Boulevard;
  • Reconstruct or realign the Nassau Mills Road bridges over the Otonabee River and Trent- Severn Waterway to increase capacity;
  • Develop a stormwater management plan for the study area;
  • Develop a sanitary sewage servicing plan; and
  • Develop a plan to address emerging congestion along Nassau Mills Road and Water Street with short term and longer term solutions.

The Process

The study is being undertaken as a Schedule ‘C’ project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document.
Two Public Information Centres (PICs) will be held during the course of the study to review and discuss the project with the Study Team and solicit feedback. The notices for the PICs will be published in local newspapers and on the city web site noted below.
Upon completion of this study an Environmental Study Report will be available for public review and comment. A notice of study completion will be published at that time.


Public Information Centre #1

The first PIC will provide an introduction to the study, the problems and opportunities identified, existing conditions in the study area and the proposed alternative solutions.
The first PIC has been scheduled as follows:
