Take Notice that the City of Peterborough has received the following applications and pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, c.P.13, the Planning Committee will hold a public meeting in the Council Chambers, City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016, to consider the following applications under Sections 17 and 34 of the Act :

Applicant: City of Peterborough

The City has initiated an Official Plan Amendment to add new policies related to Heritage Conservation Districts. This will have the effect of listing the requirements for their study, the requirements for the adoption of a Heritage Conservation District Plan and how proposed development must demonstrate and respect the identified heritage character of the district or area.

Owner/Applicant: Calvin Gillespie

The applicant is proposing to amend the zoning of the property from the R.1,R.2 Residential Zoning District to a modified R.3 Residential Zoning District to permit the use of the property for up to 3 residential dwelling units with site specific regulations related to lot area per unit; lot width per unit; lot depth; side yard and rear yard setbacks; building height and parking.

Owner/Applicant: Ashley and Mike O’Connell

The applicant is proposing to change the Zoning of the subject lands from R.1 – Residential District to R.2 – Residential District, to permit a second dwelling unit within the existing dwelling, together with a reduction in the parking to permit a minimum of 1.5 parking spaces per unit, resulting in a total of 3 parking spaces on site.

Be Advised
that if a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Peterborough in respect of the proposed applications before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted and/or the zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of City of Peterborough Council to the Ontario Municipal Board.

Be Advised that If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Peterborough in respect of the proposed applications before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted and/or the zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

If you wish to be notified of adoption of the proposed Official Plan Amendment, or of the refusal of a request to amend the official plan, and/or the passing of the proposed zoning by-law(s) of the City of Peterborough Council, you must make a written request to the City Clerk at the address below.
