Library Expansion and Renovation is Underway

Construction is officially underway at the Peterborough Public Library Main Branch location on Alymer Street.

Buttcon Ltd. has been awarded the construction contract for the Library project following a competitive bid process. The building keys were handed over to Buttcon Ltd. Friday June 10, 2016 by Gillian Barnes, Project Manager of Facilities and Planning Initiatives at the City of Peterborough.

During the anticipated 14 month construction period, parking spaces will be affected on Alymer Street, directly in front of the library building and on Bethune Street at the rear of the library.

Library services continue at the recently opened temporary library location on the lower level of the Peterborough Square.

Project updates about the renovation are available on the library website http://www.peterborough.library.on.ca/ or the renovation site at pplmoves.blogspot.ca/.
