Interim Location for Community Drop-In Centre

Location: Discovery Room - Social Services

The City of Peterborough has successfully negotiated with Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to provide Peterborough’s new community drop-in service. A service agreement is in place effective August 1, 2012. The location within a down town church is not yet finalized, but will be confirmed early in August to begin no later than September 2, 2012. Further details around permanent location will be announced as soon as possible.

The interim location for the month of August will be the Social Services Division office, located at 178 Charlotte Street in the Charlotte Mews. The Community Drop-In Centre will operate in the Discovery Room on the second floor of Social Services from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. The program will be staffed by CMHA and lunch and beverages will be provided.

The Saturday drop in program at St. John’s church will continue to operate.

City Staff wish to acknowledge the Our Space board and staff for their continued dedication to the clients through this process. A smooth transition is anticipated due to their dedication and collaboration with all parties involved.
